The Art of Party-Throwing

Supporting the arts doesn’t have to be stuffy, at least not if you choose BAM events. The onomatopoeic organization is loaded with young movers and shakers, all of whom take time out of their professional lives to party for good causes. Take today for instance: During BAMBash, the Boca Raton Museum of Art’s (501 Plaza Real, Boca Raton) secret treasure, the phenomenal sculpture garden, will be illuminated and then pleasantly decorated with fabulous guests enjoying the dancing, drinking, and sumptuous snacking.

Don’t expect an uptight crowd, either. The event’s coordinators passed on string quartets, they pooh-poohed jazz trios, and they called in the big guns: Riptide, the rockin’est live band this side of the Carolinas. Sip cocktails under the stars, nibble on tasty appetizers, and then shake a tail feather with a new acquaintance — all in the name of do-gooding. You don’t have to be a BAM member to attend, but if you are you’ll enjoy a reduced ticket price of $20. Everyone else is welcome to help pack the joint; simply make a donation of $35. Visit www.bocamuseum.org. This event runs from 7 to 10 p.m.
